Statement by Yale University — Yale College Sophomore Andre Narcisse

New Haven, Conn. — A Yale College sophomore, Andre Narcisse, 19, of Roosevelt, New York, was found unresponsive today in his residential college. He was discovered by his roommates, who immediately alerted the authorities.
Emergency medical personnel came to Branford College and attempted to resuscitate the student, but they were unable to do so and he was pronounced dead. Police who responded said there was no evidence of foul play. The cause of death is not yet known. An autopsy will be performed by the medical examiner. The University has contacted the student’s family.
Yale College Dean Mary Miller has notified students of the tragedy and told them there will be opportunities to gather to remember Andre and to support one another in this difficult time of loss.
