Evolution Experts Probe Human Nature

New Haven, Conn. — Does evolution explain human nature? Three experts explored this question on Sept. 24 during a panel discussion sponsored by Yale University, Discover Magazine and the John Templeton Foundation. A video of the discussion, moderated by Corey S. Powell, editor and chief of Discover Magazine, is available below.

The panelists were Kenneth Miller, professor of biology at Brown University and author of "Finding Darwin's God: A Scientist's Search for Common Ground Between God and Evolution"; Laurie Santos, a Yale psychologist who studies the roots of human behavior through the study of primates; and David Sloan Wilson, Distinguished Professor of Biology and Anthropology at State University of New York-Binghamton and author of several books on evolution, including "Darwin's Cathedral: Evolution, Religion and the Nature of Society."
