Conference on global health

Unite For Sight will hold its seventh annual conference at Yale on Saturday and Sunday, April 17 and 18.

The Global Health and Innovation Conference convenes more than 2,200 students and professionals from 55 countries who are interested in, among other topics, global health and international development, public health, social entrepreneurship, philanthropy, microfinance, human rights, and environmental health and education.

The event will feature 200 speakers and "social innovation sessions" by CEOs and directors of Acumen Fund, Partners in Health, WaterPartners, Save The Children, HealthStore Foundation and others.

Figure skating club

The Yale Figure Skating Club celebrated its 35th season on Sept. 19.

The club invites students, faculty and staff as well as all interested area skaters at all levels to join one or more of its weekend sessions. Individual and group lessons are available. For more advanced skaters, there are sessions on "Moves in the Field," "Freestyle" and "Ice Dancing." The winter session begins on Saturday, Nov. 14.
