ShoreBank executive to give Leaders Forum lecture
Mary Houghton, co-founder, ShoreBank Corporation, will give a Leaders Forum talk at the School of Management on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Houghton's talk will take place 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. in the General Motors Room, 55 Hillhouse Ave. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Houghton has been a member of the senior management of ShoreBank Corporation since she co-founded the company in 1973 and is currently president of the holding company. She is also chair of ShoreBank International and ShoreCap International.

Dartmouth finance professor to give Winter Lecture
Dartmouth finance professor Kenneth R. French will deliver the Judge Ralph K. Winter Lecture on Corporate Law and Governance on Thursday, Nov. 5, at Yale Law School.
French's lecture, titled "Perspectives on Financial Regulation," will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the faculty lounge, Sterling Law Buildings, 127 Wall St. The lecture is free and open to the public. The Winter Lecture is sponsored by the Yale Law School Center for the Study of Corporate Law.
French is the Carl E. and Catherine M. Heidt Professor of Finance at the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College. He is considered to be an expert on the behavior of security prices and investment strategies. His recent research focuses on tests of asset pricing, the trade-off between risk and return in domestic and international financial markets, and the relation between capital structure and firm value.
Before joining Dartmouth, he was on the faculty of the Yale School of Management.
The Judge Ralph K. Winter Lectureship on Corporate Law and Governance was established by former law clerks and students of Judge Winter to support lectures on corporate law and governance and related topics.
Teen pregnancy prevention is focus of Zigler Center Lecture
On Friday, Nov. 6, Dr. Michael Carrera, director of Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Programs at The Children's Aid Society in New York City, will speak in the Edward Zigler Center in Child Development and Social Policy lecture series.
Titled "Adolescent Sexuality and Pregnancy Prevention: A Holistic Approach," Carrera's talk will be held 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Rm. 119, William L. Carrerra has designed and helped implement 50 long term, holistic, adolescent pregnancy prevention programs in 20 states throughout the United States. His approach, which centers on developing a multi-dimensional, community based parallel family system program, serves as a model to increasing numbers of family and youth service organizations.
Carrera is the author of "Sex, The Facts, The Acts and Your Feelings," "Sexual Health for Men: Your A to Z Guide," "Sexual Health For Women: Your A to Z Guide" and "The Language of Sex."
